Ingredients

• 2 cups whole milk • ½ cup heavy cream • ¼ cup pumpkin puree • 3 tbsp cocoa powder • 3 tbsp brown sugar • 1 tsp vanilla extract • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice • ¼ tsp cinnamon • ¼ tsp nutmeg • Pinch of salt • Whipped cream for topping • Ground cinnamon for garnish


Instructions

  1. In small saucepan, whisk together milk and heavy cream
  2. Add pumpkin puree and whisk until smooth
  3. Sift in cocoa powder to prevent lumps
  4. Add brown sugar, vanilla, and all spices
  5. Whisk constantly over medium heat
  6. Heat until steaming and small bubbles form
  7. Do not boil, remove from heat immediately
  8. Pour into mugs
  9. Top with whipped cream
  10. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon
  11. Serve immediately while hot
