Ingredients
• 2 cups whole milk • ½ cup heavy cream • ¼ cup pumpkin puree • 3 tbsp cocoa powder • 3 tbsp brown sugar • 1 tsp vanilla extract • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice • ¼ tsp cinnamon • ¼ tsp nutmeg • Pinch of salt • Whipped cream for topping • Ground cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- In small saucepan, whisk together milk and heavy cream
- Add pumpkin puree and whisk until smooth
- Sift in cocoa powder to prevent lumps
- Add brown sugar, vanilla, and all spices
- Whisk constantly over medium heat
- Heat until steaming and small bubbles form
- Do not boil, remove from heat immediately
- Pour into mugs
- Top with whipped cream
- Sprinkle with ground cinnamon
- Serve immediately while hot
