Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole milk (or oat milk for creaminess)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (optional, for extra richness)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (or maple syrup)
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup Baileys Original Irish Cream
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, marshmallows, cinnamon
Instructions
- Heat base: In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, heavy cream (if using), cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla, and salt over medium heat.
- Warm gently: Heat until steaming (do not boil), whisking constantly to dissolve cocoa and sugar (~4–5 minutes).
- Add Baileys: Remove from heat. Stir in Baileys Irish Cream.
- Serve immediately in mugs, topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or a cinnamon stick.
💡 Pro Tips:
– For dairy-free: Use full-fat oat or coconut milk + dairy-free whipped cream.
– Don’t boil after adding Baileys—high heat can cause curdling.
– Make it spiked: Add 1 oz whiskey or bourbon for an extra kick (Irish coffee style!).
