  • Author: WAFA LI

Ingredients

• 2 cans (28 oz total) baked beans (pork & beans or navy beans)
• 6 strips bacon, chopped
• 1 small onion, finely diced
• ½ cup root beer (classic brand like A&W or Barq’s)
• ¼ cup brown sugar (or maple syrup)
• 2 tbsp ketchup
• 1 tbsp yellow mustard
• 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
• ½ tsp smoked paprika
• Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In an oven-safe skillet or baking dish, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving drippings in the pan.
  3. Sauté onion in bacon drippings 4–5 minutes until soft.
  4. Add beans (with their sauce), root beer, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Mix in half the cooked bacon.
  6. Bake covered for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake 15–20 more minutes until bubbly and slightly thickened.
  7. Stir and garnish with remaining bacon before serving.

Great for:
• Summer BBQs
• Game day sides
• Meal prep (tastes even better the next day!)

💡 Slow cooker option: Combine all ingredients and cook on LOW 4–6 hours.
