Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for dough)
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon Coating:

  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add applesauce, maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla. Stir until dough forms.
  4. Roll dough into small bite-sized balls and place on baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Mix cinnamon and coconut sugar in a bowl.
  7. Brush warm churro bites with melted coconut oil.
  8. Roll each bite in cinnamon sugar coating.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy.
