- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup maple syrup Maple Syrup
- ¼ cup coconut oil, melted Coconut Oil
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add maple syrup, coconut oil, almond milk, and vanilla; mix until smooth batter forms.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle coconut sugar evenly over the top if using.
- Carefully pour hot water over the batter (do not stir).
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is set and the center is fudgy.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving warm.
