For the Apple Rings:
- 3 large apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Peel apples if desired and slice into 1/4-inch thick rings.
- Use a small round cutter to remove the cores from each ring.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, and vanilla.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Dip each apple ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Fry in batches for 1β2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- While still warm, toss the apple rings in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
