Ingredients
• 6 cups rice cereal (crisp rice, gluten-free if needed)
• 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil
• 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows (or vegan marshmallows)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2–3 drops orange, purple, or black food gel (optional)
• Halloween sprinkles (worms, bats, ghosts, etc.)
• Candy eyes, gummy spiders, or edible googly eyes
• Optional: ½ cup crushed pretzels (for “dirt”) or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
- In a large pot over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until completely smooth.
- Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and food coloring (if using) until evenly colored.
- Fold in rice cereal until fully coated—don’t crush!
- Mix in sprinkles, candy eyes, or crushed pretzels for extra spookiness.
- Press mixture firmly into the pan with a greased spatula.
- Decorate the top with gummy spiders, more candy eyes, or drizzle with melted chocolate to make webs.
- Let cool 15–20 minutes until set. Cut into squares or use Halloween cookie cutters for fun shapes!
