For the Cookies:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Maple Icing:

- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1β2 tbsp milk or cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10β12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the icing, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and enough milk to reach a smooth, drizzleable consistency.
- Spread or drizzle the icing over the cooled cookies.
- Allow the icing to set before serving.
