Ingredients

  • 12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add garlic and sautΓ© for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and milk. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using.
  7. Add the cooked pasta and toss until fully coated in the sauce.
  8. Stir in a little reserved pasta water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.
  10. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.
