Grilled Filet Mignon with Lobster Tail: The Ultimate Surf and Turf Dinner

  • 4 filet mignon steaks (6 oz each)
  • 4 lobster tails
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the filet mignon steaks and lobster tails dry with paper towels.
  3. Brush the steaks with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Cut the tops of the lobster shells lengthwise and gently lift the meat over the shell.
  5. Mix the melted butter, garlic, paprika, and parsley, then brush over the lobster meat.
  6. Grill the steaks for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your preferred doneness.
  7. Grill the lobster tails shell-side down for 8–10 minutes, basting once with the garlic butter, until the meat is opaque.
  8. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Serve the filet mignon alongside the lobster tails with fresh lemon wedges.
