Ingredients

For the Burgers:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 sesame seed burger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 8 pickle slices

Special Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp pickle relish
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, vinegar, paprika, and garlic powder to make the sauce.
  2. Shape ground beef into 8 thin patties and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side.
  4. Add cheese slices on top of 4 patties and let melt slightly.
  5. Toast burger buns lightly in a pan.
  6. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, sauce, lettuce, onion, plain patty, cheese patty, pickles, more sauce, and top bun.
  7. Repeat for remaining burgers.
  8. Serve immediately.
