- 1 lb cooked corned beef, chopped or shredded
- 1 (16 oz) can sauerkraut, drained and squeezed dry
- 1 cup Russian or Thousand Island dressing
- 8 slices rye bread, cubed
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Spread half the rye bread cubes in the bottom of the dish.
- Layer half the corned beef, sauerkraut, dressing, and Swiss cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
- Sprinkle caraway seeds and black pepper on top.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top layer.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until hot, bubbly, and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Slice and serve warm.
