For the Beef Filling:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
- 1/4 cup water
For the Tacos:
- 10–12 small corn or flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned.
- Add garlic, taco seasoning, and water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Warm tortillas slightly so they are pliable.
- Spoon beef mixture into each tortilla and place upright in a baking dish.
- Top each taco generously with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and tortillas are slightly crisp.
- Remove from oven and add lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream, and jalapeños.
- Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
