For the Beef Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Noodles:

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

For the Topping:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix hot noodles with sour cream, cottage cheese, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  4. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. In the baking dish, layer half the noodle mixture, half the meat sauce, and repeat.
  7. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with parsley if desired.
