- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (plus extra for topping)
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until smooth.
- Add milk, vanilla, salt, melted butter, and nutmeg. Mix well.
- Pour custard mixture into the pie crust.
- Lightly sprinkle extra nutmeg on top.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, until the center is just set but slightly wobbly.
- Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.
